1997 saw The Commitment gang in Sun Valley, Idaho.  Not known for abundant snowfall, the snow gods obliged with a deep snowpack and outstanding skiing.  Greg Aamodt played Cupid on night “one” before leaving, as the gang made Whiskey Jacques a nightly ritual.  As was the custom in 1994, the first Sun Valley trip, Seattle Ridge Lodge saw the gang for lunch daily at 2:30 p.m.  Sun Valley with its high speed quads and fast vertical offered a challenge to all seeking the vertical title.  In the end, Brian Fraher, making a remarkable effort on Monday, skied six inches of fresh powder with Jay King, en route to nearly 100,000 verticle feet in four days.
